Medicine Bow National Forest – Buford, WY (free)

Our first free, wild or dry camping / boondocking experience was a little stressful but well worth it. We found this spot on and our iPhone GPS struggled a bit finding it which always ups the tension and makes for an interesting story! Headquarters road has washboarding but is easily manageable. The further we went the worse the road became so we did a u-turn in the field and went back to the very first spot on the right when you drive in on 707A. It’s isolated, beautiful and FREE!
